I can't stop thinking about Syria. I can't forget all that I've been through, and, above all, I can't believe that humanity has become so deaf and blind to the thousands of Syrians with stories like mine. I was lucky enough to live to tell this tale while so many others struggled, fought and died silently. I have written this memoir for them.
In this extraordinary memoir, Kassem Eid illuminates his life growing up as a persecuted minority under a dictatorship; of living under siege for a year; and of joining the resistance while the world turned its face away.
