"The Time Machine" is a science-fiction novel by H.G. Wells. The story revolves around a time traveler who builds a machine that allows him to travel into the distant future. He arrives in the year 802,701 A.D. and discovers that the human race has evolved into two distinct species: the Eloi and the Morlocks. The Eloi are beautiful, but frail and weak, while the Morlocks are ugly, brutish creatures who live underground and prey on the Eloi. The time traveler befriends an Eloi named Weena and becomes determined to help her and her people. However, he soon realizes that the Morlocks pose a greater threat than he had initially thought. The story is a commentary on social and economic class systems, as well as the consequences of humanity's progress and evolution. The novel is considered a classic in the science-fiction genre and has been adapted into numerous films and television series.
