Not your average YA book! A lot of trigger warnings: mental health, physical and emotional abuse, suicide, family issues, bullying.
I enjoyed the story and the buildup, it’s definitely a romance, but more of a contemporary one.
What i did not like is that it’s supposed to be a realistic book and the trauma is really well written, but the “casual conversations” sometimes make absolutely no sense.
Also the fact that she blindly trusts her sister after years of abuse, bad move.
A size 16 is also nowhere near actually heavy, so why in god’s name the main character is so obsessed with her rolls (in a bad way!!) , idk.
Also for a YA, there’s a lot of sextalk. A LOT.
