life, and her family's journey, spanning the 20th century
from the Netherlands to the Colonies of Indonesia and back
again. The text was compiled from transcriptions of oral story-
telling and is supplemented with 200 original photographs.
Julia Airey is a graduate of the University
College Roosevelt in the Netherladns where
she triple majored in Law, Linguistics, and
Geography. Her academic repertoire has
included archive research into the Dutch slave
trade, fieldwork on culture and identity in
Mexcico, linguistic corpus analysis, and editing
the Current Affairs section of the university
