De Ex (die een ex moet blijven) Hex

Lately it's been really hard for me to read a book. I’m not mentally well, I feel very tired, nothing really works, especially reading. I'm beginning a book (also a really good book) but I can't keep up. I finished The Ex Hex a few weeks ago, and I wasn't able to sit down in front of my computer and write a review, but I finally succeeded.

I was looking forward to reading a book with Halloween vibes during the month of October: witches, spells, the whole nine yards...

Vivi curses her boyfriend Rhys for breaking her heart and nine years later that spell has very serious consequences...

The setup sounds really fun, but unfortunately I didn't feel much chemistry between the two characters. Vivi and Rhys are described in the book as two characters with a lot of chemistry, but I didn’t see it. Both of the characters are nicely written, but I wouldn’t pair them together. It’s so unrealistic. Why would he want her? She leaves him at the side of the road, for dead. She does not care for him at all. She does not apologise, or when she does, it’s not enough. No, just, no.

And that ‘magic sex cave - thing’ was a little too much. Sorry. It wasn't the book for me.
