In oktober heb ik dus zelf één boek gekocht, en twee boeken gekregen. Eigenlijk heb ik drie boeken gekregen, ik heb namelijk ook mijn allereerste recensie exemplaar mogen ontvangen, wat natuurlijk super gaaf is! Hiervoor wil ik Clavis er graag bedanken om een “kans” te zien in mijn kleine blog JHet gekochte boek is “de verbouwing” van Saskia Noort, deze heb ik lekker goedkoop kunnen kopen (yay voor tweedehands boeken!)
De verbouwing – Saskia Noort
Mathilde, succesvol plastisch chirurg, opent haar privékliniek. Ze lijkt aan de vooravond te staan van wat een glansrijk vervolg van haar carrière moet worden. Mathilde is als vrouw in elk opzicht geslaagd te noemen: ze is slim, combineert een groot zakelijk inzicht met een hoge morele standaard, ze is gelukkig getrouwd en heeft een intelligente puberzoon. Maar schijn bedriegt. Haar huwelijk wankelt en de verbouwing van hun huis, die geleid wordt door haar echtgenoot en een 'groene' aannemer, dreigt uit te lopen op een ramp. Dan accepteert Mathilde, wanhopig als ze is, de helpende hand van een oud vriendje. Daarmee manoeuvreert ze zich in een zodanige positie waaruit geen uitweg meer mogelijk lijkt.En dan het recensie boek “Er zullen geen helden zijn” van Anna Seidl.

Het zou een doordeweekse schooldag worden voor de vijftienjarige Miriam. Maar in de pauze hoort ze een schot. Eerst begrijpt niemand wat er gebeurt, dan slaat de paniek toe. Een leerling van de school is in het wilde weg om zich heen aan het schieten. Miriam houdt zich met haar vriendin Joanne schuil in de toiletten, tot ze haar vriendje Tobi zwaargewond ziet liggen. Ze wil hem helpen, maar de angst verlamt haar. En dan staat Miriam oog in oog met de dolle schutter ... Een beklemmende roman voor Young Adults over verdriet en schuld na een schietpartij. De gevolgen voor het hoofdpersonage Miriam en de andere overlevenden zijn zwaar en verstrekkend. De auteur was zelf pas zestien toen ze dit overrompelende debuut schreef.
Dan de twee boeken die ik gekregen heb, dit zijn het tweede en het derde deel van een ander boek, namelijk “Fall of Giants” van Ken Follet. (Dit boek komt ook nog terug in deze bookhaul)Het tweede boek heet “Winter of the World” en het derde boek heet “Edge of Eternity”.

In september heb ik toch wat meer boeken gekocht. Ik heb zelfs een boek gewonnen, en bij het ophalen bij Donner móet ik natuurlijk kijken bij de boeken, en wie kan al die boeken nu weerstaan! Ik niet namelijk!Het gewonnen boek het “Strandwacht” van Mariette Middelbeek.
Strandwacht – Mariette Middelbeek
Anne en Emma zijn met hun ouders op vakantie op een Zuid-Franse camping. Hoewel ze een tweeling zijn en qua uiterlijk erg op elkaar lijken, is dat vanbinnen helemaal niet zo. Emma is de vlotste van de twee, maakt makkelijk contact en heeft al snel een vriendje. Anne heeft zich voorgenomen ook te zoenen deze vakantie, maar verder dan de praatgrage en irritante Pascal komt ze niet. Anne en Emma sluiten zich aan bij het animatieteam en doen mee met allerlei leuke activiteiten. Als ze Simone, een van de begeleiders, willen verrassen met een blind date, lijkt dat een perfect idee. Maar op de avond van de date gaat er iets gruwelijk mis.
Verder heb ik bij Donner nog een Young Adult gekocht (“Lux: Beginnings” van Jennifer L Armentrout) en nog een soort thriller/dystopian (“Zombie Apocalypse” – Stephen Jones)

Ook was er verder ergens uitverkoop in een boekenwinkel, ook onder de Engelstalige boeken, dus ik moest daar zeker even kijken en heb toen voor nog geen 20 euro drie boeken kunnen scoren. Twee Young Adults en een thriller.

Zo weinig geld voor boeken in nieuwstaat, wie laat ze dan liggen?En dan komen er toch weer twee tweedehands boeken tussendoor.
Smaak – Jonathan Grimwood

Het lot van Callie & Kayden – Jessica Sorenson

Augustus
Eind augustus ben ik op vakantie gegaan en natuurlijk moet ik dan een boekenwinkel bezoeken. En dan natuurlijk ook een boekenwinkel die Engelse boeken verkoopt. Wat nog een behoorlijke taak is om een boekenwinkel te zoeken die Engelse boeken verkoopt, want niet elke winkel doet dat en je moet ook nog hopen dat, als ze dan toch Engelse boeken verkopen, ze nog een leuke collectie hebben.
Wolfsbloed – Alexandra Penrhyn Lowe

Ook deze maand heb ik nog een boek gewonnen, namelijk “Geek girl” van Holly Smale, wat natuurlijk super vet is! Zeker omdat ik zelf twijfelde om het boek aan te schaffen, dan is het zeker gaaf om het boek te winnen.

Kopen jullie soms ook zoveel boeken dat je nu zegt dat je moet stoppen? Of valt dat wel mee (of vind je het zelf gewoon meevallen).
