Their intersection also reflects the chaos of the times (= the 1970s), especially in New York, where most of these pictures were made. Today, the city has been hobbled again, this time by the coronavirus pandemic. This book is, in part, a tribute to the imagination and zeal of New Yorkers, who know how to contend with the unpredictable.
