The Sweetest Dream

The sixties, Hampstead. In a large, slightly run-down Victorian house, Frances Lennox presides over a table set for sixteen. A dozen or so youths are expecting to be fed, among them her two teenage sons and a whole host of runaways, drop-ins and hangers-on. Frances is fantasising that her no-good ex-husband, Johnny celebrity of the left and absentee father, is finally about to relieve her of some of her burden and contribute to his sons' upbringing. It's a sweet dream, but it's a long way from the truth, and terrible things are done in the name of dreams, as Frances is about to discover...
