World War I in Photographs

in photographs

Non-Fictie

World War I took the lives of approximately ten million people and about twenty million were injured. In 1918, the Allied as well as the Central armies were totally exhausted. Finally, two important events brought the war to an end: the arrival of the Americans, who sided with the Allies, and the revolution in Germany. World War I in Photographs contains more than 800 extensively elucidated pictures and deals with the main events of World War I. For the visual material, the author was permitted to avail himself of the unique picture library of the Imperial War Museum in London.
