Historic fiction combined with a thril

Reading The Girl at the Window it was clear that the historic part is minor, as is the thriller/ suspension part...

It took me a long time to get in the story because of the storylines and the amount of characters. I had my doubts about finishing this book, but I'm glad I did

Getting further in the story the lines found it's place and the elements of thril finally kicked in

A slow starter that when I finally was sucked in, was at his ending with a mediocre thriller aspect in it, makes this book les of a treasure than I had expected.
