TWO WHODUNNITS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE

Noggy73 17 mei 2020
There is a lot to love about this crime mystery novel and I have been picking up a lot more (cozy) murder mysteries ever since. Because you can find the synopsis on Hebban, I hope you don’t mind if I dive right in...

Magpie Murders differs from your regular whodunnit for several reasons...

1. It’s actually two murder mysteries for the price of one. There are two storylines, one in present day where editor, Susan Ryeland is given the manuscript of Alan Conway’s very last novel and than there is the storyline of the very last novel .

2. While reading you’ll find out this book is low key a writing manual for aspiring mystery novel writers. Cause I don’t think I ever had the nuts and bolts of a properly structured Whodunnit explained this compelling.

3. Although I prefer the storyline in present day, cause Susan Ryeland’s train of thought is often hilarious, on the whole both storylines are enthralling and they actually work well together ...

4. As with most whodunnits there are a lot of characters but in this case they are so well crafted you can easily tell all of them apart ... in both time lines

So if your fond of murder mysteries, especially cozy ones, you have to experience Magpie Murders!!
