Lezersrecensie
Wat een mooi debuut!
I’ve had the opportunity to read Alessia as an arc, but despite that, this review is entirely based upon my own opinion.
Alessia is the debut for W. Griffin, it is a sapphic mafia dark romance story. It is also book 1 in the DiSanti series.
—---------------------------------
Alessia is the oldest child of Leo DiSanti, a mafia boss in America. When he passes away because of his sickness, Alessia is going to be crowned Queen of the DiSanti family. And their business is not what she had in mind for her own future. But now she must step up.
In her spare time Alessia works in the hospital as a nurse, something she loves doing. It is there that she meets Harper, who is also a nurse. Alessia is immediately interested in Harper and invites her over for a movie.
While Harper and Alessia seem to have a click, a connection, they have to struggle to get closer, with every complicated thing going on in Alessia’s life. Complications even get a much bigger hold on Alessia and Harper. A far more dangerous hold than both of them could have ever imagined.
—--------------------------------
I started reading and got pulled in right away. The chemistry Harper and Alessia have together is felt through the pages. Everything happening with and due to the mafia world feels unreal and at the same time genuine. It is surreal to imagine some of the things could even be happening irl, and yet, we know they are…
The writing style is detailed and is very enjoyable. I love that the author keeps short chapters, it makes it easier (for me personally) to read. I love that you get both perspectives from Alessia as well as Harper, it brings more variety. And you really get a feel of what both characters experience and feel.
A solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐٭
