Fugitive Telemetry: A Quick, But Smaller-Scale Mission

I just finished Fugitive Telemetry, and I'd give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars. It was an okay read, but after the epic scale of Network Effect, this felt a lot less impactful.

The biggest factor for me was the lack of characters. While it's a shorter novella, the smaller cast made the mission feel less lively, and it didn't have the same energy as when Murderbot is surrounded by a bigger crew. I also really missed ART. Getting back to a small-scale plot without some of my favorite characters made it feel a bit lackluster.

That said, Murderbot's voice is still spot on. The inner monologue is as cynical and hilarious as ever, and it's always a treat to spend more time in its head. And, as always, Kevin R. Free's narration was phenomenal. He completely owns the role, and his performance is a huge part of the reason I keep coming back to these audiobooks.

So, while it wasn't a grand adventure, it was a perfectly fine addition to the series. It's a good quick read for a fan who needs a little Murderbot fix, but it's not a major installment like the novels.
