A Unique Dark Fantasy Sequel
Shadow of Lym is the second book in the Dream Cloud Nine series, and I loved it. I thought it was even better than Part 1 Brass & Blood. Where Brass & Blood was a lot of times moving too fast and I had a feeling I was missing pieces of the story. That wasn’t the case in Shadow of Lym. It was still fast paced, but I could follow it and didn’t have the feeling I was missing information.
I loved reading about the struggles and mental path each of the main characters was going through. You really got a connection with Conrad, Nickel and Sabrina. They weren’t the only characters’ pov’s that we were following. There are a lot of different pov’s, some you only follow once or a few times, others several times. I loved having these different angles to the story.
If you love a fast paced, dark fantasy story, with a unique angle and world then this is your book. I do recommend reading part one first. The world building is good as well as the character development. I loved the adding of the prologues. It gave some background to the story and made it come together. The world of Dream Clouds Nine is dark and the stakes are high, with lots of conflict in it.
