My December Darling takes you to the wonderful smalltown Lake Wisteria where we meet Catalina and Luke. Catalina is a pediatric traveling nurse who is back in town for both the holidays and her sisters wedding. Set to leave right after again. Luke is an ER doctor, working at the same hospital, who will do everything in his power to make Catalina stay, even though she wants nothing to do with him. Cause ruining her relationship with her sister again? That’s not something she wants to do. Not with the best man.

My December darling is - sadly - a short Christmas novella. And yes sadly, because I wish I could’ve enjoyed these two longer. The chemistry between Luke and Catalina is amazing. Luke doesn’t make it a secret that he is into Catalina, but at the same time he keeps respecting her choices. Making it his personal job to make her smile, happy and feel safe. Even if that means having to stay friends and watch her leave after two weeks. All filled with holiday traditions, traumas, connecting and love.

Even though it’s a rather short one, the story still has depth. As a reader you get to know why Luke is how he is and same goes for Catalina. And most importantly; they develop through the story.

Ever since reading this book I’m looking for my own Luke Darling. It was great to start off the year with a 5 star book.

So if you’re a sucker for Grey’s anatomy, small town romance, Lego, banter and bonding? This is a must read for the holiday season!
