beautiful illustrations and a fun story

For her eighth birthday, Nola's father gifts her a precious music box that used to belong to her recently deceased mother. This box isn't like your average music box however. On her first night of using it, Nola discovers a magical place inside the music box, Pandorient. Can Nola help her new friends Igor and Andrea solve the mystery of what, and more importantly who, is making their mother sick?

"Welcome to Pandorient" is the first in the French graphic novel series "La Boîte à musique", or "The Music Box". The book was first published in 2018 and has now been translated into English.

I definitely enjoyed this graphic novel. The illustrations were beautiful and the story fun, although fast-paced, but I didn't mind that in this book. I really enjoyed the magical world of Pandorient. It wasn't the most original story ever, just about what you would expect to happen in a middle-grade with a magical quest does happen. However, I would still recommend it if you're looking for a quick but fun read with pretty illustrations. I would love reading the next parts of the "Music Box" series as well.
