What an amazing debut! I absolutely loved this story :D
In this book we follow Ivy, who has been wearing a collar which has been enchanted. The king gifted the collar to her when she was young, binding her to his will. Growing up in the castle she also learns how to defend herself, and with her powers as a wraith she can become invisible.
She has to play the part of the pretty, obedient pet (the king calls her that as well), while she tries to figure out how to get rid of the collar, and destroy the king.
When the mysterious Thorne, a reaper, arrives in town, they form an uncommon alliance. They both need to find the same sword, so they join forces.
In this web of secrets, lies, mysteries, prophesies and scheming royals and gods. Will they be able to trust each other, and complete their common goal?
