The Hogwarts-Express gets traded in for a flying car
The second book in the world-renowned Harry Potter series. the cover contains a drawing of a very famous scene from the beginning of the book when Ron and Harry fly in a car to Howarts. The car will play several times more a part in the books, but then as an object that has developed its own personality.
The second year at Howarts runs for a part along the same lines as the first book, although Rowling never repeats herself. There are always important variations.
The Chamber of Secrets is very well hidden and even so hard to find that many believe it is only a legand and does not really exist. While Harry, Ron en Hermione start looking for it, they use an abondoned girls-bathroom as their headquarters. The scenes with its resident ghost Myrtle, who lives in the plumbing are hilarious.
The janitor and professor Snape are clearly taking a stand against Harry, Malfoy and his friends dispise him and try to harm him in any way they can. Most others, teachers and students are on his side though. But Harry makes a couple of mistakes that put the whole school against him (again).
We meet the rest of the Weasly family, that always gives a few warm moments in the stories.
The story is as funny as was the first part, still filled to the brim with action and danger but also lessons in magic where many things can go wrong. We get introduced to some magical creatures too. Another great episode in the cycle of 7 books.
