Gladiator romantasy
I've finished reading my ARC copy of 'Trial of Bronze and Blood' written by M. K. Deoradhan. This is a romantasy.
"Better look your enemy in the eye than to miss them coming at your back."
I finished this book really fast. It took a few pages to get into, but after that it was an really easy read. It's an impressive story that is put together well. It has plottwists in the right places and I mainly didn't see those at the end of the book coming.
"In life, you have served. In death, you shall rest."
This book has a gladiator story , full with danger and tension, but also with love, friendship and kinship. The story is about Drusilla, Marcus and Cato. Who together are trying to protect an entire kingdom while their enemies are close. The story is told from the perspectives of Dru and Marcus, which fits the story.
"None but the living can mourn the death."
This story is about grief, strength, both physical and mentally, about betrayel, about (dis)trust, about intelligence, about bravery, about not having the opportunity to choose your own future. Its also about not letting your past and hardships consume you and still trying to hope.
It's an great story and I really enjoyed reading it. I give it four stars.
