Lezersrecensie
Such a unique and fun read
I finished reading my ARC copy of 'Soulles' written by Laura Dirkx. This is the second book in the 'Soulmate' trilogy and is a young adult fantasy.
"A name is more than a word. It's the only thing you're allowed to keep from your parents."
I loved book one and I absolutely loved book two. I enjoy how unique this story is and how easily it reads. I love how the story builds while the characters grow with the story. And the end? I'm both broken and excited.
"If this is the end of the world, I want to be with you."
This book is mainly about Neó who is the FMC. Her soulmate Arthur is the MMC. Along their way they make friends that are part of their story. With an extra special one joining them at the end of the story.
They are forced to make so many difficult decisions, having to question everything they know. Fight to survive and earn the right to be free. But are or will they ever actually be free?
"Fate does what it wants, completely independent of our actions. Whether you curse it or love it, it does what is meant for you."
This story is incredible fun to read, it has tension, depth, emotions and I just couldn't stop reading. I needed to know what would come next and it never dissapoints. Their are enough plottwist that are smartly woven into the story and I felt with the characters every step of the way.
"I will always find you. Anywhere. Always."
This story is about doubting yourself, about strength, guilt, love, found family, friendship, loss and so much more. Making it not only a fun story to read, but creating an extra layer of emotion within it. I really can't wait for book three and I give 'Soulless' five deserving stars.
