Lezersrecensie
Dark, twisted and entertaining
I've finished reading 'Skin' written by Sybil Knight. This is book one of the 'Renegades' series, which is a dark Rumpelstiltskin retelling. Book two 'Lamb' is also available.
"You don't love me. You love the way I make you feel."
I have enjoyed this story very much. If you read the first part of the book, you already feel how dark it could get, but the first part definitely doesn't give you a feel of how the story will continue. I was surprised multiple times and especially the epilogue end was surprising.
"Truth was I much preferred the monster I knew than the ones I didn't."
The story is about Cohen and Emily. Their future could have been amazing, but fate determined that that amazing future wasn't for them. Their story took a dark turn, with obsession at the base.
"Book boyfriends did it better anyway."
This story is most of all about obsession, about ego and about taking what you want, even if there will be years of planning before you get your price. This story is a perfect example of the thin line between love and hate and how it all connects to lust.
"You can run but you can't hide, pet."
This story was a great read and I loved the storyline. I'm really curious about book two and I give this one five stars.
