A great story
I've finished reading 'Soulmate' written by Laura Dirkx. This is a young adult fantasy and the first book in the Soulmate trilogy.
"There is nothing worse than regret. Realize that no one will ever know exactly how you feel unless you let them."
I enjoyed reading Soulmate very much. It really is a fun story and there were plenty of plot twists to keep the tension going. It is a story that reads easily and the end? I did not see that coming.
"The profoundness someone can create in your life in the short time they are with you is immense. A terrible gift, but a gift, nonetheless."
This story is mainly about Noé, Arthur, Lissa and Juna. Noé is the FMC and Arthur the MMC. Noé is used to living in the institute and has learned their beliefs. Arthur helps her when she gets out of the institute and has his beliefs, different ones. Are her beliefs right? Or does Noé have to cope with all she thought was true being a lie?
"Love is something that can come in many forms. It is the reason why you miss someone, why you feel guilty when you hurt someone, but also why you are sad when someone is no longer there."
The way the story builds is great, it definitely feels like it's working towards something. The characters, especially the FMC, grows with the story. The story has an impressive background story, making the story run deeper while it goes on. It's a story where the characters get tested in their beliefs and emotions. How they handle everything will be crucial in the end.
"We do unthinkable things for the ones we love."
I definitely loved reading this story and I'm reading book two right now! It's just a strong story with strong characters who I felt with through the story. Although some things became clearer, other things are still a mystery that I can't wait to find out. I give Soulmate five stars.
