Disturbingly festive

I finished reading 'He sees you when you're sleeping' written by Alta Hensley. This is a dark stalker romance novella. There's also a second book; 'He knows when you're awake'.

The cover of this book says; "Why choose between naughty or nice?" And I have to say that they couldn't have thought of a better description myself.
A christmas stalker romance with a morally grey MMC? It's the perfect formula for a story you want to finish in a single breath.

This story is about Chloe and Jack. Chloe is a influencer who promotes jewelry, but also has a darker side. Jack is a fire fighter with an obsession. Around Christmas they meet, will their dark pasts and secrets be their downfall?

"I need you. All of you. The darkness, the light, everything."

Besides the dark romance vibes I absolutely love and a story written in a way that it reads so easy, there's also more depth. Not just a stalker romance, but one with trauma, fear, grief and sadness. Not only are dark elements combined with lighter ones, the story is also about trust, about deciding to be who you want to be.

"We all have our stories, right? Our fantasies, our desires, and even our obsessions."

A disturbed love story and all the great Christmas vibes make it an even better story. One that I loved to read and where I felt with the characters so much. Alta created a vivid story ánd characters, giving the feel of watching from up close, just like Jack. I give it five stars!
