Amazing!
I've finished reading my ARC copy of 'A Duel with Darkness' written by C. J. Holmes. This is the third book in the 'Dark and Devilish' standalone series which is a spicy paranormal romance series.
"Let some of that control slip and live a little."
This book is amazing. It reads easy and this story is so damn hot, strong, loveable and unpredictable. Its kind of a sexy love letter mixed with action and I'm definitely here for it.
"Courage is overcoming your fear. It isn't an absence of it."
This story is about Nia and her wolf Lyall and about Luke and his wolf Lawson. Both have a dark past and their present will become even darker. Hate is all they feel for eachother, untill it isn't. Fight is what they need to do and fight is what they will.
"I've lived a charmed life, and it was a lie."
This background story and the way the story is written is thought out really good. There are enough details without over doing it and the characters are described really vividly. It's a story full of love, fight, grief, fear, anger, revenge, insecurities and so much more. Its a story about overcoming traumas of your past and replacing them with something positive.
"Reach for me. Reach for me and I'll catch you, sweetheart. Always."
I really enjoyed this story and the fated mate angle of it. I'm giving it five stars.
