‘I don’t need to be invincible. Nobody gets close enough to me for that to be necessary.’

Lau's Little Library 22 februari 2026
‘Go and save those people Arla Dragonhart. The gods ride with you.’

‘She was wrath, and fury, and vengeance. She was blood, and fire, and truth, and she would never again be useless. She would never again be that child locked in a dresser, watching her kingdom fall before here.’

Just a few of the quotes of this amazing story. Seriously, this book blew me away. I wanted dragons, and romance, and epicness, and Dragonhart delivered. So much more than I was expecting. This book is seriously underhyped.

We follow Arla Reinhart, the kings assassin and a truly tough woman. She fights hard and never loses. And she hates Hark Stappen with a vengeance. But then they are sent on a mission together and everything changes… and that’s all I will say about this story, because I don’t want to spoiler anything.

It’s beautifully written, the worldbuilding is amazing and the characters go through an enormous growth. not only the main characters, but also the side characters. I can’t wait for the next part! And can we please also have spin offs or novellas of the crew?

So, this is your sign to go read this book! Seriously, do it. You will not be disappointed

Not convinced? Here are some more quotes:
She was the King’s assassin, there wasn’t much at all that scared her
Here he was. The violent, skilled soldier hiding beneath the polite and charming ambassador
you might slip and fall on your own blade but we can’t all get what we want
Other times I find myself unable to stop thinking. Of what-ifs, and of the most terrifying scenarios that I know in the light of day have no possibility of ever coming true
She was a conniving, wicked little wretch, and it was as plain as the dragon tattooed in his heart that she didn’t plan on letting him return to Harlan alive
Reinhart, who was stupid enough to draw blood from you?
Later she might think what a fool she’d been. Later could get fucked
She would not falter. She would not fall
The Hark I know would have cut her throat long before he could ever write a letter about her
This is a bad idea. The worst. I don’t even like you. You’re the bane of my life. Fuck it
I know you’re going through something right now, but you’re not going to walk away from your emotions, and you’re definitely not going to walk away from me
I don’t think I’ll ever get used to you saying please. Especially when the next time I expect to hear that word is when you’re begging me to touch you
something had grown inside her - something she was terrified of, something she didn’t understand. But she would not turn her back on them. Not now
Like she was made of fire, and flame, and stars. Like she was wrath, and bloodshed, and death’s own companion. And she had taken a sword in the side for him
If you even think of manhandling me, Stappen, you will very quickly find out how throughly I injured I can make myself
Just because your father is an evil bastard doesn’t mean you should give up on your kingdom
You didn’t charm me, Hark. You made me want to kill you. That’s even better
Anything you want Arla. Anything you want, it’s yours. I would give you the stars if I could
