Lezersrecensie
A cozy, steamy, small town romance at its best.

Spice
To be honest, I only bought this books because of the looks, but I’m glad I did! It was a fun read and gave me the exact feeling I was searching for: cozy and comfy.
We follow Autumn and Zane who both battle inner demons caused by heartbreak, but in Zane’s case also grief. Autumn has lived in Cozy Holloe her whole life, Zane has lived there for several months when he was younger, with his mom and sister (his dad visiting whenever he could). They find each other and immediately feel a deep connection, but don’t want to act to fast. They decide to start fake-dating each other. But are these feelings really fake?
The setting was perfect, a small and cozy town in fall vibes, I could totally picture it. Some kind of combination between Stars Hollow and Dream Harbor, but in the mountains.
I did find the chemistry between the characters good, but sometimes it was played on a bit too thickly for my taste. I needed some more adversity or something, can people truly be this happy? Then again, it reads like a hallmark movie, so you fly through it.
Around the halfway mark the spice enters and it is definitely spicing!
What was done very well was how grief was woven through the story. The memories you have of someone who was very deer to you an how you go from those memories being to painful to making you feel all the good things you did when they were still here.
Are you looking for a cozy, spicy small town romance? Then this is definitely your book!
Tropes: Small Town Romance; Fated Mates; Love At First Sight; Fake Dating; Billionaire MC; Writer FMC
Some of my favorite quotes:
“I hope he’s real. Because whoever dates you next will have some big fictions shoes to fill. Your subconscious has created the perfect man for you, and I’m not sure anyone can live up to him.”
“He looks at you like he plans to unravel you.”
“My weakness is my heart.”
“Mom was stardust. Sparkly and beautiful, but gone too soon.”
“I’m afraid of growing attached then having to navigate a world without knowing you.”
“Life is too fucking short to be in awkward or annoying situations.”
