Spring Girls
When I requested Spring Girls on NetGalley, I didn't know this was the third book of the Northampton County series. Normally I don't like it when I haven't read the rest of a series, but 50 pages in I was hooked!
Detective Geena Brassard and her partner Parker Reed are investigating the murder of a young woman. The woman's body was pulled from a lake in the Appalachian foothills and she is the third victim of the Spring Strangler. Geena and Parker seem to be on a dead end, until they find out about a forth victim. Only this victim survived.
The survivor, Janey, is reluctant to help with the investigation. Geena and Parker soon find out why she doesn't want to talk about what happened to her. When they uncover her secret, the investigation finally seems to lead somewhere.
This is a fast-paced thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I did uncover who the murderer was, but that didn't keep me from being horrified and curious unil the last page. This is a must read for everyone who enjoyes a good mystery thriller.
