Een bloederige zomer...
This one is for the Dutchies and urban legends fans. Daniëlle takes us back to the year 1997. A story is going around about a killer on the loose, called Dirtbag. If you encounter this killer, your fate is sealed.
In this little horror novel we witness multiple young teens going through the bloodiest summer of their lives. Multiple urban legends are incorporated in this story. For me, this is just a combination of two loves: horror books & urban legends.
Daniëlle's stories often take place in a Dutch town called Westerdam. The people she portrays really do come across as typical Dutch people. Characters such as Monica, Joyce and Edward reminded me of the people I went to school with. Very life-like, which makes it even creepier when Joyce and others find themselves in these scary situations.
This book is classified as 'youth horror', making it easy to read as an adult. I read it one day, bit the chills lasted all night. It's perfect to read when you have a day decicated to some me-time.
Fun and quick to read. But also able to make you check twice if you're really home alone.
It's the second book by Daniëlle I read. The first being 'The House With No End'. I can for sure say I'll be reading her other stories too.
