Amazing!

I've finished reading 'Infernal Ascendancy' written by Daria Malaunt. This is a dark fantasy and the first book in a standalone series called 'Devine destinies'.

"An angel, once full of light, now standing on the edge of a dark abyss."

So there are not a lot of books that give me true shocked feelings, but the ending of this book and that epilogue.. I did not see that coming! I feel truly shocked, in a good way, but still shocked. I just loved it. I love when a story can surprise me like that. This story is written really comfortable, what makes it an really easy read and once you've started, you will not want to stop.

"I'm not one of them, not anymore. Wingless angels aren't angels any longer, you know?"

So this story is about Demetra, Rikarion and Dracian. All three of them banned from their home planets and cast out to live their lifes in 'hellcity'. All of them dark background stories, but maybe they will be able to find some light in the darkness.
This is is true fantasy with all these elements I love and a lot of creatures I like to read about. But it's so much more.

"I'm your god now, and I'm going to destroy you."

This story is unique and the background story intrigues me. If you would look at this story on a deeper level, you can spot themes like mental health, sacrifice and grief. The story is about rising above everything that's said and done to you and hopefully still be yourself on the way. About being brave and also being vulnerable. About opening your heart and fighting for whats good and just even in the face of danger.
I cant say anything other than that I loved it and I hope you all will read it. I give it five stars!
