The story in Following Fate by M.A. Frick picks up where the first book ended. This book I enjoyed way more than the first book, maybe because now Avyanna is more developed and we know her story, how she wanted to become a rider and how her relationship with Rafe worked out. In this second book in this fantastic series she is more determined, more grown up and I just love her. Her building bond with the wild Dragon is great to read about. Both are new at this and some scenes are filled with humor. Her building and ongoing relationship with her General Rafe I liked also more. Now it seemed as there is no great age gap between them and I was rooting for them.

There is a lot of action. The book is filled with adventure and there are lots of twists and turns in Following Fate that it was really hard to put the book down. The writing style is great and flowing and the worldbuilding with the dragons is just fantastic. The new characters we are introduced to made this story even more interesting and fascinating.

For those who love an adventurous story, with a lot of action and dragons, this is the series to read.
