Lezersrecensie
Powerful story of love and loss.
"Our doubts are traitors,
And make us lose the good we oft might win,
By fearing to attempt."
So this is one of the few books I stayed up all night (and morning maybe) for. I could not put it down. Heartfelt, heartwrenching, heartbreaking and heartwarming, I was just constantly on the verge of tears. Obviously I ugly cried at some point, but I don't want to talk about that.
It was a constant flow of things happening, never did I felt it was dragging or slowing down. Nor was it fast paced by any means. You get a glimpse of a group of people in their senior year; ready to round up high school, willing to face to real world but unable to leave the circle of what feels familiar and safe, into what shapes them for the rest of their adult life.
Most importantly when reading the story, it never felt forced. It was told in a very natural flowing way, the narrative changing back and forth from present to past, giving you a glimpse of what actually happened or why things the way they are now. The love story unfolding was such a pleasure to watch grow.
Please read this.
