Lezersrecensie
Met veel plesier gelezen
I don't normally enjoy books without a plot, and in this book nothing much happens, but nevertheless this was certainly an enjoyable book. I really liked all the stuff about the trees, and the protagonist's connection with nature. I've read a lot of books where that is important, but this one definitely had some new insights and some beautiful poetic imagery.
The perspective of the protagonist as an introverted foreigner was also interestingly brought across. I've also got sick of people asking me the same standard questions about if I miss my own country and so on. I cannot really say that unrequited love is my favourite theme, but she dealt with it well, cleverly and subtly bringing over the perspective of both characters.
I read this book with Brommer op zee app and the author's comments also added an extra dimension of interest.
