I read this book because I enjoyed <i>Uit het leven van een hond</i>. When I realised what this book was about, I almost stopped. What a negative, miserable subject! But I'm glad I didn't because this is in no way a negative book, and I read it with a great deal of pleasure. It is certainly thought provoking and challenging, but that is compensated for by the beauty and lightness of the prose. You don't have to be interested in death to get a great deal out of this book.

It is certainly thought provoking and challenging, but that is compensated for by the beauty and lightness of the prose. You don't have to be interested in death to get a great deal out of this book.

Een typische Scandinavische thriller met leuke plotwendingen, duistere karakters en sneeuw.

The book is worth reading for its style and also its strange ideas are interestingly thought provoking.
