I didn't want to finish this because I knew my heart would BREAK. And I was right. But I'm SO looking forward to The Traitor Queen because you just know boss bitch Lara is going to reclaim her man and none of y'all can stop her insert insane ninja moves here.

I had severe ACOTAR flashbacks with the Aren and Ahnna banter in the beginning (Rhys and Mor, is that you?), and any mention of Eranahl instantly had me thinking "Where are we going? - To Velaris, the city of Starlight.". But that just made me love this more, tbh.

There were a few descriptive chapters/pages that were a bit too long for my taste, but other than that this was exactly my cup of tea.
Lara, to me, was about as perfect as an MC can get. She's sassy, quick-witted, self-sacrificing and has this whole YOU-TOUCH-MY-PEEPS-YOU-DIE vibe going on. Yass.
Aren, on the other hand, was also just exactly perfect as her love interest. We think he's bad (although we never really did but sssht), but then he turns out to be the sweetest, most muscly perfect soab in the universe who is ALSO self-sacrificing and ALSO has the HOW-DARE-YOU-TOUCH-ANYONE-I-VAGUELY-KNOW-NOW-YOU-SHALL-SUFFER vibe. Love. it.
You can't convince me that y'all wouldn't want to be Lara (okay minus the childhood trauma maybe, sorry girl) or wouldn't want to have Aren (minus nothing because habba habba).

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to buy the next book k baiiiii.
