Not sure what to think of this

The beginning of this book was really promising;

1. We get enemies with this TENSION between them that was so palpable, I was in pain.
2. We get stolen glances and heated looks.
3. We get a masquerade at which the prince will meet his true love so y'all just know what I was hoping for.

And then.. I was a bit disappointed? After finishing, I have no idea if the FMC even likes our MC? There's still a bit too much emphasis on the "enemy" part, imo. By the end, it didn't feel like a fairytale to me anymore, but more like an opportunistic girl using a boy who likes her. And I'm not really here for it.

Then again, this probably wasn't the intended focal point, but I'm just an enemies-to-lovers aficionado so I make it my focal point in every story I read (sorry not sorry).

I can't really gather my thoughts on the rest of the story, because there is also a lot of action and courtly intrigue, but might come back later to add my thoughts on those parts.
