Pride & Prejudice retelling

Potions & Prejudice by Tee Harlowe is first book in The Moonflower Witches Series and it is a cozy fantasy retelling of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice, so I just had to read this book.

Elspeth is the one who takes care of her family. She wants to be able to cast a spell, but thanks to a curse, she cannot. Her sisters are the same way. The only cure is marriage. When they find themselves in a charming village thanks to the breaking down of their apothecary car, her older sister meets a charming guy, but his friend is very grumpy. Sounds familiar?

This book was such a joy to read. You can see many glimpses of the original novel and I had a hard time putting the book down. The writing style is flowing and I loved the main characters. The cozy fantasy world comes across wonderful. The story is filled with humour, drama and banter.

I you love Jane Austen, you have to read Potions & Prejudice!
