In Daughter of no Worlds we follow Tisaanah. She’s a slave but when she wants to buy her freedom, everything she thought she knew was a lie. To make it out, she had to kill the most powerful man in Threll.
With nowhere else to go, she turns to the Orders. They won’t accept her without a proper test and Tisaanah is therefore forced into an apprenticeship with Max. His bloody past makes him reluctant to help but it may just be what saves them both.
Carissa can do no wrong. Her writing style is my absolute favorite and it sucks me into this amazing fantasy feeling from the first line. I’ve immensely enjoyed Daughter of no Worlds.
I loved how strong Tisaanah is/was after everything she’s been through. Her determination never wavers and she’s such an interesting character you really can’t help but root for. She’s feisty and I love her so so much. Max is amazing and even Sammerin is such a loveable character. Their relationship (Max & Sammerin) is actually quite fun!
There’s an obvious goal throughout the book but there are so many little battles/quests/hurdles on the side. It’s amazing to see the story progress and watch it all unfold, really.
I haven’t been bored once. There was always something else to keep me on the edge of my seat, super invested or just shocked by the turn of events.
Add to your tbr if you love:
- strong fmc coming into power
- slow burn romance
- reluctant teacher x student
- magical academy
- grumpy x sunshine
- war & sacrifice
- morally grey characters
