Lezersrecensie
Demonisch lekker
! Ik heb de Engelse arc gelezen maar die is nergens te vinden op Hebban, vandaar dat mijn recensie in het Engels is!
Scotland, 1660. Ailsa is a healer in a small town. She doesn't have much: one best friend, her job as a healer and a cottage of her own. But she is grateful. After her mother died, she feels alone. She wants nothing more than to have a family. She has a crush on the most handsome man in town, the blacksmith, but he doesn't even notice her. Nobody pays her much attention. She is like a fly on the wall.
Until the darkest day of her life... That same day, she finds a piece of pottery in the sea. Strange things start to happen. And one night she is offered a dark bargain by the demon that comes out of it: her greatest wish in exchange for one soul. How far is she willing to go for eternal love?
This book starts nice in slow, we meet the main characters and discover the small town where they all live. The speeds goes up when the demon comes in to play and after that it’s a intense, funny and frustrating story where I had all the feels. I was laughing, crying, angry (throwing the book kinda angry) and blushing. It holds everything humor, action, drama and spice. And the plottwist I did not see it coming! The only thing I liked less is how naïve Ailsa is, maybe that is because it’s a different time.
I give this book 4 stars, I did really like it but the slow start was just a bit to slow. Do you like historical romance, with a little dark demon romance, this a a book for you.
