Exciting YA thriller!

Seventeen-year-old Leah Lockwood stays hidden at school because she doesn't want anyone to find out she's in love with her best friend, Maya. TikTok is an outlet for Leah, especially when the app, Trendverse, comes up with dares that make you go viral. But the dares are dangerous, and how far will Leah go for fame? One of the dares ends fatally for Leah. Maya doesn't believe Leah will go that far and seeks answers. She discovers a dangerous group, the Circle. Are they behind these dares? And what influence does the Circle have? And how dangerous is this group, really?

When you start reading, it seems like a silly accident caused by social media. But the further you get into the story, the more you discover about the dark truth behind Leah's "accident."

The tension builds beautifully, and every time I thought I'd only finish one more chapter, I couldn't stop reading.

The book deals with a very current topic, as social media increasingly takes hold of our daily lives. This book clearly demonstrates that social media can also be very dangerous. It really makes you think.

I think the characters could have been developed a bit more, so you get to know them a little better. I think the story would have been more intense then.

The ending was really unexpected; I didn't see it coming, but that's what makes it so good. And because of the ending, I hope there will be a book two.

All in all, a truly exciting, well-crafted YA thriller. If you like a bit of suspense, this is definitely recommended!
