Wat een geweldig leuk boek!
Driving Miss Crazy by J.P. Sterling is the story of Finley and Zamboni driver Sam. When Finley gets dragged by her sister Lauren to an ice hockey game, Lauren decides Finley will have a crush, because, she, Lauren, has one too. So, she sets out to put a note on the Zamboni with the question to the driver: Can I have a ride on your Zamboni? If so, please drop me a line. Signed: Miss Crazy. And then this cute sweet and funny story begins.
As I love all novels written by J.P. Sterling, I just had to read this short novel too. And this book was so good, so funny. Finley is a bit unsure of herself, as her sister is very beautiful. She is a lovely character and when she and Zamboni driver Sam get into a textual relationship, they immediately hit if off. Both do not know who the other person is and that made for some great reading. Their interaction grows into something more. And then Sam invites Finely over for a ride on the Zamboni, but he let slip that he saw who left the note…
The writing style of Driving Miss Crazy is flowing; the story is filled with the J.P. Sterling humour I have come to love. The characters come across natural, they could be your own friends. The story is filled with mistaken identity, banter, flirting, romance, and some drama, but also with somewhat unusual characters, which is something that I loved best about this novel.
This novella is a great addition to her Granite Ice hockey romance series, which books I have read and loved. It is a great series, with good story-lines and great characters. I especially loved the first book, The Pucker-Up Pact, and that one is still my favourite. But all the books in this series are standalones, so you can start with whatever book you like. I can recommend them all, including this new one, Driving Miss Crazy, in my view the second-best novel in this series.
So, if you like reading clean and sweet hockey romance stories, filled with humour, try the ones written by J.P. Sterling. I can guarantee you’ll love reading them.
