Fairytale Retelling

The Cursed Sight by Jennifer Roachford is a sweet fantasy retelling of Goldilocks. And as I love retellings, I was very eager to read this book. Princess Lenora is cursed and is unable to touch anyone (and I immediately though about Juliet from the Tahereh Mafi books). Lenora is a strong character and as a reader you feel for her. As she wants to be useful, she travels to the land of her ancestors and to learn more about her powers, but then she discovers not everything is right.

This story pulled me in from the very first. The writing is engaging, flowing ands I had a hard time putting the book down. The magic (power) of Lenora is a bit unusual and like her I wanted to know more about it. The plot, storyline and worldbuilding are well thought out and I loved everything about this story. I can’t wait to read more books by Jennifer Roachford.
