Unieke hervertelling van Rapunzel

Once Upon a Silver Strand by Michelle Miles is a fantasy retelling of the fairytale Rapunzel. In this book she is named Ariadne and she lives all alone in a tower, where somehow all things she needs is provided. When during a freak storm a man falls from the sky and tells her he is here to take her home, Ariadne does not believe him at first.

This was such a lovely retelling of Rapunzel, the author made the story completely her own. You can see traces of the original tale in Once Upon a Silver Strand, but it is also a whole other story. I loved it and had a hard time putting the book down. The writing is flowing and the book is easy to read. There is much mystery and unique magic woven into this book.

Once Upon a Silver Strand has been a great surprise to read and I can totally recommend this book to any reader who loves fairytales and retellings.
