In Shot Through the Heart by J.P. Sterling, Paisley goes undercover as a photographer to an upcoming hockey team in order to win the appraisal of her father. She wants to write a horrible piece with ditto pictures, but when she meets ice hockey player Noah, who has rescued her several times, and spent more time with the team, she changes her mind.

This book by J.P. Sterling is once again a great humorous book. I love her sense of humour. As we have a dual POV, it is a great way to know Paisley and Noah. Both are great characters, but Paisley I just love. The way she thinks and feels come across so very well! She just wants her father to notice her. And Noah is just wonderful: the way he comes to her rescue are great. Paisley wants to hate him and his team, but as they spent more time together, she softens toward him. There is a great chemistry between them and their growing relationship is so heartwarming and cute. It was also really nice that two characters in the first standalone book in this series, Sophie and Axl, made an appearance as well, because that book, The Pucker-Up Pact, is one of the best hockey romances I have read so far.

The writing style is flowing, and there are several hilarious situations, which made me smile a lot. I had a really hard time putting the book down.

Shot Through the Heart is a lovely hockey romance story, with two very likable characters who you root for all along, with a flowing writing style, humour, tension and with some twists, a story I enjoyed reading a lot.
If you want to read a lovely clean romance story, this is it.
