Wat een heerlijke setting
When the privileged FMC (Kit) agrees to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for her father’s project, she never expects to find herself stuck in a tent with Miller, her former crush, and her sister’s ex. As the altitude rises, so does the tension between them...
Oh, how I adored this book! I was instantly hooked by the cover and the blurb, I mean, climbing Kilimanjaro with your long-lost crush? Yes, please! And thankfully, the story did not disappoint.
The dual POVs were a great touch, though I definitely wished for more chapters from Miller.
Kit starts off as your typical spoiled rich girl and I was a bit worried I wouldn’t like her. But luckily, she quickly proved to be smart, funny, and likable. And Miller? Absolutely swoon-worthy. The way he could read Kit’s emotions, the way he protected her... we all need a Miller.
I loved the bickering. I loved the mountain climbing. I loved the forced proximity in the tent. Everything just worked: the tension, the banter, their complicated history, and the forbidden aspect of their relationship. I was so hooked!
The breakup-by-text with her fiancé-to-be wasn’t my favorite moment, but honestly? If Miller invited me to a tropical island, I wouldn’t hesitate either.
Kit’s father was such a lovely, supportive character, while her mother was toxic as hell. Why does no one ever call her out? Kit’s sister was sweet, though I wish someone had told her sooner that her relationship with Miller was really over. That said, I loved how she supported Kit and Miller.
This book made me so curious about the author’s other work. I can’t wait to read more from her.
Huge thanks to Valentine PR and Elizabeth O’Roark for sending me this ARC. I absolutely loved it!
