This story has many surprising twists, for example, in the decisions that Catherine and Edyon had to make in their lives. I loved the strong character of Catherine and I felt really sorry for her lover Ambrose when he lost her. Can Edyon forgive his old lover March?
Even Tash is becoming adult quickly because of the atrocities he had to go through during the war. But also what she has learned of the truths about the demons, who are living underground on the Northern Plateau and the evil plans of Catherine’s father who is harvesting the demon smoke for his boy army.
Catherine has to fight against her own family multiple times in order to survive and to save her citizens in the new country of her husband Tyzan. Does she have a solution about the boy army filled with demon power?
