Heerlijk verhaal om te lezen

I have finished reading my review copy of 'De Wisselaars, het Lemniscaat' (the Shifters, the Lemniscate) written by Karin van Veldhoven.
This is a young adult fantasy and I will be part of the blogtour for part two of the Shifters that will release around the end of March or the beginning of April.

I have really enjoyed this story, from the first page untill the last. It's written in a way that its really comfortable to read and it made me want to keep reading.

"Talk? Did you really say talk? With those retarded beasts? Magic is unnatural. We will dominate them!"

This is a true fantasy with a lot of fantastic elements, but with a unique story. A fantasy like I've never read before.
The descriptions are vividly, it let me see the world and the characters and made me also emphasize with them. This story has the perfect amount of tension and the author knew perfectly when a plottwist was 'necessary', which kept me surprised and exciting throughout the story. Also.. there happend a lot of things that I truly did not see coming and the end is surprising!

"This was the knot, with all its beautiful old trees. Now it is an ordinary forest without huts to live in. Without magic."

This story is about friendship, family and loyalty. Its about understanding yourself and trusting yourself and others. It's about believing in something bigger than yourself and facing every danger with bravery and a bit of magic. Its also about a battle between bad and good and dark and light. Its about accepting and loving both sides of yourself to grow into your strongest self.

I loved this story and I am really excited about part two. I definitely recommend it and I give it five stars.
