Lezersrecensie
I really enjoyed the last book of the maple hills trilogy
This time we are following Henry and Halle.
Henry took over the captain position of the ice hockey team after Nate from book 1 graduated last year. He has a hard time dealing with the responsibilities but he doesn't wanna let his teammates down, so he deals with the extra pressure.
Halle loves reading and writing and is very smart and doing very well at school. When she hears Henry is struggling with one of his classes she offers to help.
They start out as friends. Henry struggles in situations with lots of people and loud noises. One of Halle's sisters also struggles with school and because of that she has developes a way for Henry to make his studying easer. Then he hears Halle is writing a romance book, but she is missing the experiences to write it. He decides in return he will help her do fun things just as friends.
Well obviously you can guess how that ends. Enter an annoying ex boyfriend who plays hockey for another team. Family that puts pressure on Halle, a mental meltdown, and all that while navigating college, work, sports, friends and family.
I could relate very well to the characters, like Halle I love reading and everything books. Like Henry I was a D1 athlete, he loves to do art (I did an art minor). Also how Halle tries to please everyone and not putting herself first is very relatable! So yea it's not just your standard spicy sports romance!
