I absolutely loved this book

I absolutely loved this book, it had all the elements I love in a story: gods, mythology, trials, morally grey characters, love and death, so what else do you need ;)

In the book we follow Lyra. She has never been favored by the gods, and even beliefs herself to be unlovable. But every 100 years there is the crucible, where all of the Greek Gods choose one mortal to compete in 12 trials. The mortal that wins, will win the throne for the Greek God for the next 100 years. Zeus is the current ruler and he wants it to stay that way.

However there is a new player in town! Hades usually stays far away from meddling with the other gods and rules the underworld. However this year he has his mind set on winning! He chooses Lyra to be his champion.

Lyra thinks she knows everything there is to know about Hades, and really doesn't understand why he chose her to be his champion. She is not likable, and she just really wants this whole ordeal to be over with.

She spends more time with Hades and discovers that he maybe is not the kind of God that she always thought he is? Will she be able to help him win the crucible? If she survives though...

The book does have an open end, but luckily book two will be released over here at the end of the month, so I can't wait to see what happens next!
