Heerlijk boek!
Vanaf het begin werd ik in het verhaal van Zacriah gezogen. Hij is weggerukt van het leven dat hij lief heeft, en opgeroepen om naar het hof van koning Dalior te komen. Eenmaal onderweg naar de stad, doet hij zijn best om zijn ex-vriend Petrer te ontwijken... Hij is omringt door 'shifters' gedaante-wisselaars, Zacriah is geen shifter, maar al snel kom ik erachter wat hij wel is. Wat een aanrader dit boek!
Once I started reading, I was drawn into the life of Zacriah. He is torn away from the world he loves and summoned to the court of King Dalior, accompanied by shifters he travels towards the city, trying to avoid contact with his former lover Petrer.
But Zacriah is not like the shifters, and when the story progresses, I found out what he was.
The writing is so well done, painting a picture with words isn't an easy task, and when it is done like Ben Alderson does, it makes the story so much more compelling. The nice flow of it all just gripped me.
Needless to say, I ordered the next two books. Loved it!
