Lezersrecensie
Als je van criminal minds houdt, is dit boek voor jou
When Angela asked me to do a buddy read of the Naturals, I immediately agreed. I heard so many good things on the book and the fact that it kind of relates to Criminal Minds made it impossible for me not to want to read this book.
First off, the cover is very fitting for the book. Every single person in the book is a puzzle that needs to be figured out. Everone has their own story, their own personality and their own reason for behavior. And oh, how easy is it to misinterpret behavior.... Every character is also a natural in some kind of way. A profiler, an emotionreader, a walking ecyclopedia, a lie detector.. and those pieces of the puzzle together make way for an amazing team of people who can solve almost any type of crime. The killer in the story is also 1 big puzzle. Throughout the story, you need to figure out his person. Not just who they are, but also their reason for killing, their past, their emotion. Everything is a puzzle, which makes this cover perfect for the book.
The characters in the book are amazing. They are so different from eachtother, but at the same time, they are so alike. They all have somthing to hide, they all have a reason for being the way they are and it causes funny, but also hard situations, even more so because they al have a natural talent for reading people, situations etc.
Lynn wrote a very easygoing, yet hard book. She wrote short chapters, targeting the right group of people (Young Adults) and the story just lures you in from the first second. The story is captivating, the plottwist is unforseeable and seemingly comes out of nowhere, but is very well explained afterwards. I will tell you, you DO NOT see it coming in this book. Lynn also uses the perspective of the killer very well. She writes short thoughtprocesses from their view, which keeps the story interesting. I just wanted to keep reading, hence why I finished in a couple of hours. I am also very excited to read the next book in the series.
If you like Criminal Minds, this book is for you and it will not disappoint you.
I give The Naturals 5 stars!
